Been Painting: Goblins!

Born on the Bayou!

Not the most photogenic paint-jobs I’ve ever done; trust me when I say that the camera has not been kind to these lads and lass.

Ophelia’s face isn’t much fun, though; hard to reach with lots of protuberant details.  Should I file those ridiculous cartoon lips down a bit?  It’s seeming like it might be a sensible approach…

  1. I’m glad you think so! Honestly, I’m never sure about paintjobs like these – in my heart of hearts I like them but I have a kind of conditioned reflex upon seeing the word ‘cartoony’, which is so often a slur levelled at styles less popular than the ultra-realistic weathering-powder red-in-fourteen-layers sourced-lighting stuff.
